Sarah’s Week
A short film about one student’s week with EdSmart Studio: a new topic, homework without shortcuts, a unit test, and a dad who can finally see where she’s stuck.

Meet Sarah, a Grade 8 student. Tomorrow her class starts linear relationships, and tonight she wants to be ready. Instead, she ends up lost among browser tabs and contradicting answers.
The film follows her through one week:
- Learning a new topic. She opens her school’s own curriculum, picks Gradient of a line, and watches a short video lesson that stops to ask her questions. Then she tries practice questions with the tutor beside her, using a step-by-step method for word problems.
- Homework, without the shortcuts. She works on the homework her teacher set. The tutor guides her with questions and never hands over the answer. She can also upload a photo of her working for feedback.
- Ready for the test. She builds a practice assessment with levelled questions. It is marked against the IB criteria, and she then retakes her weak areas.
- Parents in the picture. Her dad, Peter, sees her progress by unit and topic, and sets her a practice test before her summative.
